Borda Museum was established in 1876 by ​​the Archaeological and Historical Society of Borda. It owes its name to Jean-Charles de Borda, mathematician, physicist and navigator born in Dax in 1733 and his cousin François Jacques Borda d'Oro, a paleontologist, a precursor of prehistory.
Borda Museum is housed in the Carmelite Chapel, built in 1523.
Of the former monastery remains today the choir and side chapels of the church.
The Borda museum presents very different collections: objects depicting the history of the city, from the Gallo-Roman times to the present day and works of art evoking the landaislandscape and bullfighting

This museum was created by former military and brings together collections of photos and many memories of the Second World War, the Indochina war, planes and helicopters.
Presentation of the first helicopters and army helicopters and principes of Rotorcraft.

Georgette Dupouy, born in Paris in 1901 moved with her husband to Dax in 1935 where she died in 1992.
She was one of the most amazing artists of the twentieth century. She succeeds to the Impressionists.
After practicing the pastels and watercolors, Georgette Dupouy took up painting in oil.
The museum displays some sixty canvases having toured the world alongside the biggest names in the painting of the last century, Miro, Dali, Picasso, Utrillo, Renoir, Chagall.
