Dax Shopping and Markets

Landes

Confit d'Ascain Foie Gras, Ascain

Direct Quote from the Dax tourist guide :

"The Saturday markets are much more than a brisk commercial activity, the markets are the meeting place for all Chalosse, this region to the South of the Vast Landes department, which has been shaken from its habitual morning disposition.
To the rhythm of the Gascon dialect, we discover the great variety of colorful farm produce on display here.
The covered Market of Gras, more particular, is a wonderful gastronomic event that can and often does, shed a ray of sunshine into what can be a rather sad and morose World."

Are they telling the truth ? Come and see for yourself.
