SOME DIVE SITES
- Digue de l'Artha (Bay of St Jean de Luz). Depth : 10 to 15 meters
In the middle of the protected area of the bay (accessible for everyone).
Multiple diverse aquatic wildlife refuges (mullet, pout, Sars ...).
- Belhara (between Ciboure and Hendaye). Depth : 20 to 25 meters
Fund composed of small canyons and caves covered a multitude of red algae.
Lots of different fishes, bream, bars, anchovies, conger eel, bonito, moray
eels...
- Aroca (between St Jean de Luz Guéthary). Depth : 25 to 45 meters
3 sites on a beautiful plateau, length : 25 m. Many ways (canyons, caves and
holes) cut into the rock. Discovery of a varied fauna and flora colorful dune
(torpedoes, triggerfish, congress ...)
- Esquilletak (between St Jean de Luz and Guéthary). Depth : 15 to 20 meters
Rock strata in a stack of plates. The spirographs sway the liking of the swell,
changing color with the brightness.
- Illarguita (in front of Ciboure). depth: 25 to 50 meters
Huge falling about 2 miles off Belhara offers many opportunities for
exploration. Several rockslides provide shelter for local wildlife as lobsters,
eels...
