The Mountain of "La Rhune" is not very high in comparison with the "Pic du Midi de Bigorre" (2865m) in the Hautes Pyrenees, or "Mont Blanc" (4807m) in the Alps.
La Rhune is only 905m above sea level. But, there are 2 things which you can't do on the other two !
Ride up by Train on the "Petit Train de la Rhune" from Ascain up to the observatory on
the top (with 360░ viewing terraces)

Arrival at the summit
It runs every day in the summer and takes passengers from Ascain up to the summit restaurants and shops in a slow climb (8 km/h) during 35 minutes.
In 2013, Le Petit Train de la Rhune runs every day from February 16 to November 11
from 9.30am to 11.30am and 2pm to 4.pm
July / August :
Departures every 35 minutes, the station is open from 8am to 17.30pm
Journey time :
35 minutes to the summit.
The whole visit takes about 2h
